[ Menu Redesign ]

OVERVIEW

As part of my internship, I was tasked with rebranding the menu for 88 Canteen, a restaurant aiming to capture the atmosphere of a traditional Hong Kong bistro. The goal was to design a menu that not only functioned well for customers but also embodied the nostalgic warmth and energy of Hong Kong dining culture.

CHALLENGE

  • The existing menu lacked personality and did not reflect the restaurant’s unique cultural identity.

  • The challenge was to translate the essence of a Hong Kong-style café into a clean, functional design that resonated with customers while still feeling modern and approachable.

PROCESS

  • Drew inspiration from classic Chinese design elements, incorporating traditional motifs, structured layouts, and typography reflective of Hong Kong’s visual culture.

  • Curated a bold, yet harmonious color palette to capture the restaurant’s lively atmosphere.

  • Focused on creating a menu that felt both nostalgic and refreshing, enhancing the dining experience through design.

OUTCOME

  • Delivered a cohesive menu rebrand that authentically communicates the spirit of a Hong Kong eatery.

  • Elevated the restaurant’s visual identity, making it more engaging and memorable for customers.
